Trouble Re-Amping With Studio One 7

I am running into a problem getting Re-Amping to work in Studio One 7. Before someone does a RTFM check on me, I have done the manual process many times over the past three days trying to get this work (I have also looked for any videos on it). The "STEP 1: RECORDING" part works flawless and I am getting the Guitar DI fine.

Feeding the DI Track back to the AxeFX3 I am getting no signal to the input.
Anyone set this up in Studio One 7 and know what I might be doing wrong?

Following the instructions from the manual

1. Press HOME and open SETUP : I/O : Audio and make the following two changes:
  • Change Digital Input Source to “USB/CHANNELS 5/6”.
  • Change Input 1 Source to “DIGITAL”.

2. MUTE the “Guitar Reference 1” track.

3. Change the output of your “DI” track to Axe-Fx III Output 5/6. Set its output level to –6.0 dB.

4. Solo your DI track, then rewind and hit PLAY. You should hear the DI being processed by your Axe-Fx III preset.
Set its output level to –6.0 dB.

5. Record the re-amp. Create a stereo track. Name this track something like “Guitar Re-Amp 1”.

Set its inputs to Axe-Fx III Inputs 1+2.

6. Arm your re-amping track for recording, making sure that Software/Input Monitoring is NOT enabled.

7. Rewind, hit RECORD, and roll the track. The output of the preset is recorded.
8. Change Input 1 Source back to “ANALOG” when you finish re-amping.

Change the output on your Guitar DI track to ReAmpOut. It looks like you still have it sending to Main. Also, don't reduce the DI track level by -6 dB. That instruction in the manuals is wrong for most DAWs. In fact, Studio One appears to have a fixed -3 dB pan law, so you'll actually want to increase the level by 3dB if you are sending a center panned mono track to ReAmpOut.

Ahhh, I see what you are saying. It does not look like I have anything but Main as an option there even though I have ReAmpOut set up 🤔.

I did create it, it just does not seem to be available as an output. This is probably the issues I have been going rounds with.

Perhaps not an answer you are looking for but I suggest the following layout to simplify things a lot:

In the DAW:
  • GTR DI track:
    • IN 1 as input,
    • disable input monitoring,
    • disable master send,
    • make a send to OUT 7 (USB Left)
  • GTR track:
    • OUT 2 L+R as inputs,
    • disable input monitoring while testing or recording your DI,
    • enable input monitoring while reamping, if you wish to hear the reamp while its going.
Record the DI while monitoring with no latency through your Out 1 as normal.

When you want to record a reamp or just fiddle with settings during playback you now only need to bypass the Out 1 block and enable input monitoring on your GTR track.

At least for me this is much easier to wrap my head around and is much more flexible than the setup suggested in the manual and elsewhere.
