I was messing with some patches over the past couple of weeks, and I continually ran into walls with pitch tracking using both the synth block and the pitch block. Specifically, the pitch block tracking generates a lot of ghost tones, particularly on low notes, and high notes can sound tizzy and "nervous." (Oddly, the few pitches that tracked well were the notes of a B major triad. Go figure...) Using the synth block, it would not track at all.
To add insult to injury, I have certain patches with pitch shifting and synth patches that I created months or even years ago that I've used successfully, that now no longer work! Could my AX-8 need calibration? Or is there some other voodoo I can apply to get the tracking to function properly?
BTW, I have read numerous posts regarding creating patches with low processing percentages that are supposed to make tracking more accurate. Done. And I've read that disconnecting the USB cable after editing is supposed to unglitch the tracking. Done.
