Stereo down to Mono

I like running stereo live but sometimes I end up needing to run a single mono FRFR Speaker at gigs. I can usually still provide a stereo out to the house PA but not always. For best results, do I need to have additional mono patches set up or can I just set output 1 and/or 2 to L/R sum when needed? Is there any downside to doing this as opposed to using mono delays, choruses etc... in the patches?

If you sum them, using output mode l+r for example, just beware of phase cancellation depending on your stereo effect.

Sometimes I sum them, or sometimes I leave it in stereo an just send 1 side. I only miss my dual delay on my lead preset which is hard panned, so only 1 delay comes out but that's ok for the quick small gigs.

Is there something I could buy that would sum the signal and prevent the phasing?
