Stereo Chorus Comparison - VP4 & My favorite stereo chorus devices

After using every single chorus algorithm in VP4, a favorite type nimbly revealed itself enthusiastically.

This Fractal Audio chorus effect type not surprisingly was a digital model of my favorite chorus device from the real world. It is the recording studio staple from the Magnetic Era of the recording industry; often found in major studios, either above, or below the Eventide Harmonizer in the studio's outboard effects producer's rack.

The 3 chorus devices I own are my absolute favorites from years of acquiring and weeding out the ones I didn't think were so good. There's only one chorus pedal I sold off that haunts me in my dreams - The Red Witch Empress Chorus. It's a good one, but there was another that burned the witch.

One of my 3 favorite stereo chorus devices is based on the famed studio rack chorus mentioned above, while the others are unique circuits of their own with many analog electronic components responsible for their special coloration, movement and dimension.

The stereo audio files in this audio comparison are 96kHz, 32bitFP and will need to be loaded into your digital audio workstation for listening. Open a new DAW session and set the sample rate to 96kHz and the bit depth to 32bitFP BEFORE you load the files into the DAW session for listening. Grab your best headphones for this. All of these chorus devices are stereo and you'll want headphones to be able to compare the width.

Take a listen and rank these 4 audio recordings according to which stereo chorus sound you like, from your personal favorite to least favorite.
