Stereo Cabinet

Anyone every give thought to (or use) a single cabinet separate L and R for the 2 speakers? Seems like a cool way to get 3-d sound out of a portable rig.

I just bought an empty 2 12 cab and am considering some options. I know there are some out there that have this...

I've done it with a 212 and 412 cabs and to honest it dosen't sound all that great, just not enough seperation between the speakers. I went to a pair of 112's and was so much better sounding with stereo effects with 3-5 feet between them sounded very huge.
