scene/section reappears originally saved

I switch a scene (or song-section), change an effect with an effect ON/OFF, then go to another scene (section), and return to the previous one.
The effect is still switched on, although it wasn't originally saved (it was just switched on before depending on the situation).
Where can I set it so that the scene/section reappears in the originally saved version?
