Scene controllers (Gain)

So I am trying to understand Scene controllers for Gain within my patches. I watched Leon's video and now have a basic understanding. I have 2 questions please.
1) I set up for more gain as I advance through Scene 1-5. I assigned Input Drive as Scene 1, in the drop down list....why is just Scene 1 and 2 listed? any how t seems to bring up scene controls fo all the scenes ?

2) As I add drive, it also adds volume, as drive does. How can I then level out the scene volumes respectively ?
I see there is a Scene sliders section for volume......but for my clean patch to get to normal I need to go to +18db....don't think that is right. I am missing something.

Thank you

1. Scene 1 & 2 in this case means "Scene Controllers" of which there are two, rather than the actual Scenes. As you noticed, each controller has a setting for Scenes 1-8.

2. You don't want to use scene volume for this because among other things, it also affects the level of your reverb and delays. Best way to compensate is something like the Level in the Cab block, in a Filter placed after the amp, the Volume block, etc. Set it up so the level goes down as the drive in the amp block goes up. Dial in as needed.

Thanks Jefferski, check on Question 1, all good.

Now to patch leveling. I thought the Cab blocks volume was universal across scenes . Can that be set different volume per scene ? ??

I am trying to use these scene controllers to get away from adding more blocks, ( VOL, FILT) maybe the only way though ?

Thanks

If you put a Scene controller on it. You can use the same SC to do multiple things by changing the Min/Max on the different modifier screens.

I show how in this 6 year old video for the Axe2:
