is there a keyboard short cut/mouse operation that will quickly return a tweaked parameter back to its pre-tweaked default?

Double click. It goes to default, not what you may have set previously.

Double click. It goes to default, not what you may have set previously.

And to be very precise, the editor default may or may not be the block default (as in, the value used when you reset the block or channel).
