Need help with Pedal board build

I’m looking at getting a GoMc flat board to put everything on so it’s an easy grab in/out of the case but I don’t know if this is gonna work. I only have an inch on the length wise walls which the pedal board itself will be flush with. From what I see others do there’s always at least an inch or so of foam around the exterior.

Any recommendations on how I could get this to work are welcome.

If the board is wider then the units attached to it, they shouldn't hit the side of the case. If the foam is tight top and bottom it shouldn't move around.

If the top is detachable, you can use the case upside down with the top acting as your pedalboard and the body of the case acting as a cover.
