2009 release, follow up to Dog House.
Ed DeGenaro teamed up with writer/producer Chris Taylor (Randy Brecker, Lionel Hampton, Grover Washington Jr.)who wrote and produced the majority of this CD. This album is as before Ed's take on a various influences, more refined than previous ones. The guys playing on this are all masters of their craft. With Dave Weckl (Mike Stern, Chick Corea), Joel Rosenblatt (Spyro Gyro, Steve Khan), Marco Minnemann (Mike Kenneally, Paul Gilbert) on drums and Ric Fierabracci (Frank Gambale, Brett Garsed, Chick Corea) on bass, George Whitty (Brecker Bros, Oz Noy, Chaka Khan) on organ, and Chris Taylor on keys and additional guitars it was bound to be a strong album.
If that was not enough, super guitar virtuoso Ray Gomez (solo artist, Stanley Clarke, Steps Ahead) makes a guest appearance on guitar. As does Matte Henderson, who also wrote two tunes for the album.
This CD is amazing material together with amazing musicianship.

Sounds great Ed! Is Southern Flyer your take on Steve Morse? I didn't see this on iTunes but I found three of your other cds there. Are you going to make it available through them?

It will be on itunes eventually, usually takes about 3 month. That said I think both CD baby and Abstract will have it as download in a few days...

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting it. The samples have some kick ass playing with some cool tones. I can see some day that people will argue about them. "Was Ed using update 7.04 when he recorded this? I can swear it sounds like pre-7.00"

I just went thru the samples. Great tunes and great tones. I'm gonna be ordering the CD when I get home tonight.
For the Axe stuff, did you record direct, with a miced cab, or a mix of both?

Didn't see that before, sorry...all the Axe stuff is direct to disc.

I Just wanted to say that I bought Ed's CD and have been listening to it a lot and digging it. It's a lot to digest! But It's got some incredible playing and tones on it.

Congratulations ED. Well done!

Larry

Bought the CD on itunes.

Ed, your playing is very, very impressive...and I really like the song structures.

Tones aren't so bad either :D

Thank you for sharing!

Just downloaded (iTunes). Fantastic job. Playing and compositions first rate. I'm about to drive 4 hours to Providence, RI -- thanks for making the trip interesting.
