How would one get a sound like this? I've been experimenting with chaining Pi->Pi->Shiva clean but that isn't the right thing... though it is pretty fun...
 
i used to play this pre-axe, haven't dialed in the tones for the axe though.

I used a TS-9 and a Danelectro Fuzz into my mesa(express, so not real gainy at all)..threw some octave up harmony for the solo from my G-Major, and it sounded good.

I'd think a Rat would be a good start into a low/mid gain dirty amp.

for the solo I'd add in a smooth overdrive like the BB Pre and make sure to have an octave up pitch block as well it really brings it out awesome.

edit: I'm going to try to put something together tonight....this is bothering me thinking of all the ways to get this sound :)
