Im looking to buy some decent monitors to use at home for my axe fx and some recording. Im not too bothered about getting a 100% true and balanced sound for mixing, im more interested in getting something that will sound good and be enjoyable to play through.
Im not after a Fratomic because im looking for a pair of monitors that I can put on my desk, play music through as well as my axe fx. plus theyre way more convenient.
Anyway, Im a total novice with respect to monitors and speakers, only experience is really with guitar amps and cabs.
Im, looking at getting a pair of yamaha HS80M, i read a couple of good comments on this forum about them, and they seem to have some good reviews elsewhere but are fairly cheap in comparison to the high end stuff.
Can anyone chime in on their thoughts of these monitors?
Does anyone have any other recommendations?
Finally, should i be looking for a sub-woofer as well as monitors or will a pair of monitors suffice?
