I really need help with making a Axe FX tone. I am looking too make a patch for 8 string guitar, deathcore music mainly like rings of Saturn. I tried what seems like every impulse response and almost every I hated. The best result I had is when I made a IR ( it really cuts at 500hz ), but with this and basically all other IRs the top end ( between 3.5K and 6k ) becomes to sharp which you can’t find a happy spot between being sharp and responsive, and dull and dark.
I love the FAS modern a lot, but find it can very easily be to sharp on the top end, but that’s when it sounds really close to good just too sharp ( peaky ). But when I try to rectify this with a “better” IR it sounds like AC/DC tone ( only mids ) or just bad.
Sorry for the probably incoherent ramble, I am an experienced guitarist, I swear haha. I even teach guitar. Just been a long lasting and very frustrating tone search
Any tips, suggestions, or patches/IR’s would be greatly appreciated.
