Presets MASTER THREAD - AustinBuddy 1000+ LIVEGOLD TonePack - Partial Update (Bank 1 Marshalls) for Cygnus X3 firmware update now available

Third party presets and packs for Fractal Audio products
Hey guys - I just replaced the download file of Cygnus Bank 1 with a new one that includes the FM3 version. So if you already downloaded before 6:55PM CST in U.S. if you go back and download you'll get the updated Cygnus-compatible version for BOTH the Axe-Fx III and FM3. Enjoy!

Okay guys, happy weekend, and thanks for your patience- here's the good news!

LiveGold TonePack's Bank 1 - the Marshall amp styles - is now updated to Cygnus 4.x for the FM3.

The partial, temporary update for FM3 (and Axe-FX III) users is now available in your account download area on my website.

Please read the "Cygnus LiveGold Only Bank 1" zip file's README release update notes
, as I changed a few things (for the better).

Fixed some issues, plus some amps were re-done/updated (like the Friedmans). But mainly worked hard to keep most presets/scenes/tones sounding consistent with the original firmware 15 preset scenes/tones (plus the added new Cygnus magic!).

The updated LiveGold preset names now all end in "-c", so you can tell them apart from older versions after you load them.

The Marshall styles amps are off the hook in Cygnus. Really great! I'll be working over next 6-8 weeks to get Banks 2 and 3 updated and will let ya'll know when that's done.

Remember, FM3 firmware 3.x cannot "see" Cygnus presets - these Bank 1 presets will look blank if you revert back to firmware 15.

Trouble logging in? If you've forgotten your account login password, you may get locked out of the website for about four hours, then it resets. That's the auto security feature thinking you are a Bot with repeated failed attempts. You can request a password reset link to be sent to your email of record (the one you bought under).

Make sure you have my email in your contact book so any password reset email link doesn't go to your spam or junk folder (check those). Email is heybuddy @ austinbuddy.com with no spaces. Most people try again after four hours and it all works fine. So please just email me for help if the above isn't working for ya.

ENJOY THE TONES!

Dude - have we told you lately that you're awesome?! Because YOU'RE AWESOME!!! Thanks for ALREADY having one bank Cygnus-ready! Way cool!!

Way to go, AustinBuddy! Just loaded up the Bank 1 Cygnus preset updates an WOW! Truly excellent! Keep up the great work. Well done. We appreciate you.

New user here, and totally impressed with my band mates setup, so much, he let me borrow it for the weekend before I purchase my own FM3.

My question for Buddy is I’m assuming once updated Marshall Bank 1 is loaded into Cygnus it should be good to go, but I’m wondering for the other banks, since I wanted to try some of the heavier amps, would I need reset the amp block, or should I be good to plug and play and Tweak controls as needed?

Thanks for making a believer out of me FAS and thanks to Austin Buddy for the multiple hours you’ve spent on this

Hi Orlando, I simply can't say because I haven't played any of the other Bank 2 and 3 presets yet after the Cygnus update. Some (many?) amp models have been reworked Cliff has said, so they may sound different under Cygnus firmware than prior firmware.

If you do a full channel reset on the amp block, you lose the preset settings. Better is to do a soft amp reset (see the Axe-Fx III/FM3 Wiki page for how to), some things like Presence control, Input EQ (lo cut), Speaker Impedance curves, saturation drive levels, etc. will still go back to default, but most your main page controls don't' change like drive, bess/middle/treble. It's the non main page stuff I program that I may have to fix manually when I update everything to Cygnus. Wish I could help more, but that's where am at as of today.

But maybe a short answer is better: Cygnus firmware will reset some things - so if you can tweak a Cygnus preset to sound good to you, then go for it!

Quick question. My plan is to update to Beta 4.0 and then load your new presets in. Do I still need to update the amp block or is that irrelevant since I would be starting with your live presets?

If you update to Cygnus, you can load the updated Cygnus LiveGold Bank 1 and no need to reset the amp block - those Bank 1 presets I put in your download accounts last night are ready/good to go.

For older LiveGold firmware 15 presets in Bank 2 and 3 I have not yet completed, that is not the case. They may or may not sound “right.” But they will be great again after I update them all over next six weeks or so...

You've checked with the person who lent you the rig, about whether it's ok to make changes to their presets, right? :)

Try opening this version of release notes then. I'm thinking the file name is too long for the .pdf and Windows users can't open it. So I shortened the name. Maybe that was it.
