Is "Treble" knob on a guitar really just a bridge switch?

I just saw it on an SG. Was curious if it's just a fancy term for switching to the bridge pickup?

If so... Yes. It is a switch not a knob and it literally switches between the neck (rhythm) and bridge (treble) pickups.

Sure but don’t let labels tell you what to do. That’s just classic terminology. You can use any tone for anything you prefer.
