Is "Treble" knob on a guitar really just a bridge switch?

I just saw it on an SG. Was curious if it's just a fancy term for switching to the bridge pickup?

Are you meaning the (pickup) switch labeled as "rhythm/treble"?

If so... Yes. It is a switch not a knob and it literally switches between the neck (rhythm) and bridge (treble) pickups.

Yea.

So bridge is for riffage and neck position for soloing? Is center more for clean tones (no distortion)?
