Is the EV-2 Expression Pedal Compatible with Boss?

I need an expression pedal for my Boss SDE-3000EVH and really like my FAS EV-2. However, the manual says to only use Boss expression pedals with the unit. Is that true? Or will the EV-2 work just fine?
 
The EV-2 has a higher pot value than the Boss pedals (100k vs 10k) so it may or may not work as expected with all Boss compatible devices. The polarity is the same though with tip to wiper wiring using TRS cables. In theory the pot value really shouldn't matter that much since it's just a simple voltage divider. I can't say for certain that it will work, but it seems like it should. Perhaps someone here has both and can confirm.
