How does noise gate interact with Virtual Capo

I have my VC set to -2 with 5 tracking right at the start. I also have a noise gate between the amp and cab.

[IN 1] - [Pitch] - [AMP] - [GATE] - [CAB] - [OUT1]

Im wondering if the gate adds more latency to the virtual capo. No matter what I do there is always a bit too much latency for me while doing palm muted + distorted chords.

I use the gate on the input. I also VC to -2.
Works just fine.

If you're going to put the gate there, be sure to set the side chain to input. A slow attack speed in the gate could feel like added latency.
