How differently should I treat a Bass that has a built in Active Preamp as opposed to passive electronics (Axe FX Specifically)

I asked something similar in another forum, but not specifically for basses. Just wondering if anyone has delt with running a bass with active electronics or built in preamp through axe FX (using the amp and cab block) without any other sources. Just going from bass to axe fx into interface. What parameters should I tweak and how differently should a patch be set up? Cheers.

That's mostly just down to your taste and what sounds good.

It wouldn't be any different than when using a real amp.

I think active basses can have a lot more variability in tone since the preamps often allow boost or cut of highs and lows and sometimes mids.

Probably does not need to be setup any differently at all. Maybe just throw a volume block in as your first block to trim down the input level if it’s too hot from the active bass compared to your passive bass, if you’re trying to use the same amp settings

Global Input 1 Gain is even better since it requires no modification to any presets and takes effect at the very beginning of the audio signal.

Whether it's a guitar or a bass, just make a preset and plug in the jack and it works for me
