Help needed to create this bass sound

Fundamental starting points:
  • round wound strings
  • non-vintage bass with active electronics
  • both neck and bridge pickups, full treble
  • GK 2001 RB amp, Mesa Boogie Speaker cabinets
  • short of using the same amp/cabs, get midrange presence via some type of preamp pedal like SansAmp BDDI
  • Regardless of what the video shows, Justin Chancellor plays with a pick, and the figure is 100% on the open D string, not jumping to the G string for the higher notes. Not all notes are struck. Employ pull-off technique to the open D string from the high C & octave D.

- see JC's right rundown online...he's uses Wal basses & a ton of pedals and high end preamps (Demeter).

IMO, it's mostly having a modern bass ( I have a Schecter Studio Elite that cops this sound pretty closely ), round wounds and the right technique.

Yes i've a Bongo and a Jackson - John Campbell Signature Bass.
I just want something close of this sound using my Fractal FM3, don't want a perfect Justin Chancellor tone.
