Having issues connecting phone via usb-c to fractal unit....

I am posting here because i see the fm9 part is more active. i have the fm3 turbo... I am using a usb-c to usb-c cable with a usb-b adapter.. when i play audio through it. It works fine for about 5 sec then it gets choppy real bad kinda like 8bit audio from the ol nintendo days... when i go to record myself play i get about 2 secs of audio then nothing. Thats using the camera app.. now i can use that same cable and plug into my computer and audio works just fine.... i tried 2 different data cables.. and i used these cables on my fender tmp with no issues. When i had it.. any help would be great.
Phone is samsung s25fe.
And as well i have a new cable coming in.

The FM3 requires a Mac or Windows. On Windows you also need a driver.
Phones are not supported.

I have seen where people have plug there phone right into the usb-b port with there phones and record straight that way... i have seen a few videos that people have done it on the fm9 as well too and as well play music threw there phone as well.

How is there videos on youtube of people using there iphones to record straight from the usb ports of there fractal units to record
When a manufacturer says that something isn’t supported it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. It means that they don’t provide support for the mentioned cases, don’t test etc.

Since FM3 is declared to be class compliant, it shouldn’t really care about the host device, but the host device should have proper class drivers.

Which in the case of Android is almost impossible to guarantee.

I myself have been using the FM3 with phones and tablets and haven’t encountered a single device that wouldn’t work. Cables and adapters, on the other hand, are hit and miss.

And my USB setup isn’t straightforward:

So i used a otg box my wife had... it worked at first.. playback audio was good.. but recording it did the same thing it was ..... then after that it went back to the same thing i was having issues with... and thats using the original cable that came with the fractal.

There are two possibilities:

Your phone has a driver that doesn’t work with the FM3

Your cable/adaptor doesn’t work with the FM3

If it’s the former, there’s nothing you can do.

If it’s the latter, another cable may work. But you may need to try a lot of them before you get lucky. Or the next one will work. Nobody can tell.

Have you tried to increase the USB buffer size on the FM3?

Yes i have went from the lowest setting to the highest setting.

it could be something with fractal and android... i know when i got rid of my fender TMP... people who had iphones or ipads were having issues recording usb to phone or ipad and also with playback too... i had no issues with bluetooth but apple products were a hit or miss on the unit..... well i have a new usb-b to usb-c cable coming tomorrow... what would be the next thing then that i could buy to do playback and also record using my phone?

I don’t think it’s Android as such. I tried a couple Android devices, they both worked with my setup.

Specific Android software and hardware implementations are the issue, there are so many of them and quality control may be mediocre, especially for such niche applications.

I don’t have any specific advice to you regarding next steps, sorry, it’s next to impossible to provide a universal guidance in this case, and I don’t have the device you have.

Trying different cables and adaptors is the obvious step. Failing that, trying another phone.

I tried my old phone that i still have with and without the otg box my wife has.... on both ican do playback no problems but recording is the same thing.. audio for 3 sec and then it drops out haha
