FX8 with Ethos Clean Fusion Deluxe?

I'm curious if anyone has tried this: I am using my FX8 with the new Ethos Clean Fusion Deluxe. The outputs are TRS, but mono. Right now, I'm running the traditional 4cm (with humbuster cables), and using the ECFD speaker sim out into a Lehle P-Split iii into my FRFR speakers (so not true stereo, obviously). I'm interested to see if it's possible to run it using the FX8 out into 2 FRFR speakers to achieve true stereo effects. It would just be a matter of placing the Ethos at the right place in the signal chain (still with pre/post fx), correct? And it makes sense running effects after the speaker sim, but would that negatively affect the output?
