FM3 noise with real amp

I have a Vox AC4 that sounds perfect plugged directly into a guitar amp, and it's also perfect with another pedalboard. But when I connect my FM3, it makes a horrible noise through any output. It seems strange to me because my FM3 doesn't make any noise at all with other amplifiers, connected to a PA, or via USB. What could it be?

It may need a 1:1 isolator to de-couple the FM3 from the amp. What kind of noise is it? Can you post a clip? 🙂 I have had issues in the past with my FM9 and previous FM3 when using amps.

Worth noting:
The new generation with the AM4 and VP4 do not have the same power supply and are ridiculously quiet with all of my amps.

I repeat: this does not happen when the Fractal is connected to any other amplifier, nor when the Vox is connected to any other modeler

I think it’s very strange, because it only happens with this specific combination.
The Fractal works perfectly with any other device connected, and the Vox also works perfectly with anything else.
The issue only appears when they are used together: Vox + Fractal.

That is not normal. I have a room full of Vox type amps. Including two that are very similar.

Running into the front of an amp ..the Fractal output needs to be -10dB setting. And with the amp set clean it should sound really nice.

Yes, of course. I have a Friedman and a carvin, and they sound perfect.

It's in the manual. The FM3 can be used in many different setups. One of them is in front of an amp (i.e. Vox). In that case the Boost/Pad parameter can be used to decrease the "noise floor". It optimizes the level between FM3 and amp.

If the OUT clipping LED appears, turn down Boost/Pad to the next setting.

Make sure that OUT 2 is set to: Unity Gain.

perfect, now it’s working perfectly. Thank you so much, honestly. I have a gig tomorrow at the Christmas dinner and I really needed to fix this.
