Fm3 firmware 1.01

Has there been any talk of if the FW for the FM3 mirrors the the Axe-Fx III or if its completely separate like the AX8 and the II?

Not quite... The FM3 and the Axe-Fx III are both "servers". The "clients" would be an FC controller, Axe-Edit, FM3-Edit etc.
The FM3 architecture was created so that firmware updates to the Axe-Fx III could be migrated with a minimum of effort.
