Extreme with Living Colour

Saw the show last night!!! Holy hell. I was absolutely gobsmacked. When you have listened to a band for over 20+ yrs and have watched their DVD live concert vids countless times but never seen in the flesh. It was honestly surreal to watch Nuno. He is . magical. The band was awesome. They are tight. Venue was deafening loud though...despite bringing ear plugs my ears are ringing today. Nuno sprinkled in a lot of little Van Halen licks throughout. Living Colour was also great. I havent really followed them over the years but remember listening to number of their songs in the 90's. Vernon played amazing ...was also pretty mesmerized by his unique picking style. Their singer....good lord , his pipes! unreal. After all these years that guy can seriously sing. Gary too was on point with vocals. All in all an amazing show. was at a venue that houses upwards of 2000. Not sure what the actual count was but mostly full.

Yep, saw them earlier this year. They did run it very loud when I saw them as well - too loud IMO (and I'm not one quick to say that). It's a treat to watch Nuno for sure. Living Colour still has it. I could have written your same review, except I have seen them a few times before. Saw them in a small venue on the Pornograffitti tour - was one of my top all-time shows. Such energy!

I would have loved to see the Pornograffitti tour. I have that concert vid and have watched it many times. It was a great set last night. Thing about Canada is Extreme hasn't toured much here so fewer opportunities to see them. Gary made a comment about that in the show and I can't remember the year he said but it was a very long time since they've come

Me too. The only piece of Extreme I ever saw was when Gary fronted VH on the "VH III" tour.
I was thinking of the multiple VH connections in Extreme as you say and Nuno with his homage striped N4 and as i mentioned he sprinkled number of EVH licks throughout the show. The intro to Women in Love, Eruption and a few other licks. I actually caught a short lick from Rage Against the Machine during a mid song breakdown ..just jamming. Gary also merged some Queen into a song or two.

The Masquerade perhaps? I was at that show as well. Danger Danger (Andy Timmons) played that night as well. That was an awesome show!

Nuno is a beast!

I only saw Exreme once, pretty early on (shortly after More Than Words exploded).

I friend offered me a free ticket to see Bon Jovi with Extreme opening.

I would have turned it down if Extreme wasn't playing... Which would have been a mistake because Bon Jovi killed it, too!

And yes, Cory Glover is a crazy good singer!

Masquerade - yes! I don't remember Danger Danger but you're probably correct. It was before More Than Words had hit big. I remember Nuno and Gary flying across the stage jumping into each other and they did a cool vocal round-thing at the end of Get The Funk Out where they sing lines from other songs from the album on top of each other. You can hear it a bit on the studio version, but it was played up and prominent live - really cool. Killer show!
