Experiment for the bored ones today

Record three guitar tracks (as in play the part three times): first with a middy nasty amp, one with a bassy amp, tuned for that rumble, and once for nice scorching treble. Mix them together and use only the bass/mid/treble part of each track, as in cut all the treble from the bassy tone etc.

Then do it all again and pan the six monstrosities across the mix. LPF the bassy track, and HPF the bright track.

Then come back to this thread and thank me for totally wasting your time.

Poll: What is a bigger waste of time - the process described by the OP, or playing some variation of the same 4 or 5 licks for 3 hours over the same dozen or so YouTube backing tracks that you did yesterday. Not that I would have any experience with that.

I've been stuck on a 4 chord backing track loop for many hours, many many times. Damn you Axe.
