Effects with stereo spread set @ 100%.

When running a mono chain with chorus, reverb , etc (any effect that has a stereo spread parameter) does the spread parameter need to be set at 0.0?

I noticed the volume of the effect gets a few db louder and the mix sounds more up front. Chorus as an example, I keep it in line after amp/cab blocks , mix at 35%, level set at -2db seems to be balanced .
Reverb block has the same option .
Just curious.
 
Yeah the stereo spread makes a difference in volume. I've noticed this.
Checked out some user mono presets and no one adjustments this to "0"
 
I'm bringing up the thread again because it's not yet so clear to me either and a difference between 0 and 100 is clearly audible.
What should the setting be for a mono preset with all effects that have this control?

Which audible setting did you prefer?
 
I haven't figured that out yet, I'm someone who doesn't just go by ear, I also want to get it right in theory, because my subjective feelings could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
