Never got to use the HP-1 but got my fix with the Zvex Fuzz Factory and Fuzz Probe pedals.

Your post has led to me discovering Steve Albini (from the band Shellac. The Harmonic Percolator's most vocal champion and most widely known user). I'll be looking into this guy some more so thanks for your post.

I found this article he wrote very interesting, though nothing to do with the pedal.
