Do I need send return blocks?

If I choose an amp block that I plan on using cranked (power tube distortion) do I need to put my delays and reverbs in an fx loop block?

Send and return blocks are typically just used to connect one row of the grid to another when you run out of space on a row.

You can place your delays and reverb blocks before the amp/cab or after the amp/cab without using send and return blocks.

I think the signal always flows from left to right in blocks. If you need the flow to go to the left, to get more block space, then you need to use a send/return to do it. This is similar to row mappings in Helix and Quad Cortex, but more flexible in the signal path routing.
