Whats the best way of rigging the ultra with this amp, im using the 4 cable method from the manual but i cant use the channel on my amp they switch but but the amp tone wont change. I have been told its because i havnt configed my axe into a fx loop ? how can i sort this ? do i have to alter all the presets ? or can i just config the axe so all the patches are running through the fx loop ?

You need to run the VH4 essentially as an "effect" in the Axe-FX's loop. This allows you to use either the real VH4 preamp or the Axe-FX preamp models at will.

The routing goes like this:

Guitar > Axe-FX Front Panel
Axe-FX Out 2 > VH4 Front input
VH4 Send 1 > Axe-FX In 2
Axe-FX Out 1 > VH4 Serial Return

Then like I said, to use the VH4's preamp in a preset, you just have to have the "FX LOOP" block active in the chain. To use the Axe-FX's preamp, have the "AMP" block in the chain and not the "FX LOOP" one.
