Wish Delay "Age" Parameter

One single parameter that when you turn up, it will "age", or degrade every consecutive repetition. I realize some analog delays specialize in this, but sometimes I dial the perfect delay, and would just like to have access to degrading each consecutive repetition without having to go look for another delay type. Also sometimes it would be great to be able to add MORE "age", where the delay would then saturate or completely get muddy. Again, I realize there are ways to do it, but you've have to move several parameters to achieve this. One single one for this action would be useful.

Would that not be kind of what bitrate already does?
That's not really aging, but it will impart a kind of degradation.
IMO, "age" isn't only degenerative on feedback -- even the first echo will be of poor quality. SO, in that sense, Low Cut and Drive.

You can build yourself a delay using Send and Return blocks and experiment with different degenerative effects in the loop. Here's one I like:

Boost -> Distort -> Compress -> EQ

Thank you, @Admin M@ , that’s a fine supposal.
I will certainly give it a try.
👍

And I agree, that it would be very convenient to have a certain pre-configured subset of your mentioned elements in a quick-and-dirty one-knob in the delay blocks, for example called „age“ button.

I suppose, that is roughly what @camilovelandiamusic is looking for. Is it ?

Yeah. I currently CAN do it, I just have to go through several steps, but it is definitely what Matt posted. I think of compression, saturation, and most notably a roll off on the top end that gets lower with every repeat. Also could even become more and more Band-passed with every repetition. If I needed it for one set preset, I'd go about it Matt's way. But usually it's a situation where I'm recording and I think, a cool aged delay could work here, and then I gotta dial it all up from scratch.
