From what I've read (and watched!) about this process it sounds like I need:

a .mogg (or .ogg) file of the song in question - to isolate the guitar track
the amp type he used for the recording (marshall? what kind?)
a copy of Reaper or Audacity
some gumption

Did I miss anything?

EDIT: How about a pumpkins song? BC claims he overdubs ad nauseum to get 'his sound' - what amp would one pick for a song like 'quiet'?
 
That soundcloud clip has that distinctive "Jamvox" distorted (not in a good way) quality to it. Worth a try, though.

On the other clip, I fear the drums will interfere.
