Well, I've had my Axe Fx II for over a week now and have been noodling about with different presets. Same as everyone else :mrgreen, but I've also been experimenting with how much I could reproduce a close mic session in the studio, using the Axe and Garageband. Only a little Gate, Comp and Rev used and my Jem 7 into the Axe, USB'd out to the iMac. No edits, cuts, nips, tucks or volume knob used on the guitar during the recording (which is a Hendrix Red House backing track found on YouTube). I left the guitar way up top so it is as close as an isolated track as possible. I'm dumbfounded at how much this sounds to a close-miked recording. Very natural distortion like I've never heard with any other pre-processor!
