Carvin AE185 with FM3 -- Any thoughts?

Stopped by a local shop today, eyed an old Carvin AE185 (acoustic/electric), plugged into a Princeton Reverb, and could not put it down. Has anyone tried one of these guys through an FM3 or AXIII and, if so, any thoughts or comments? The guitar has dual inputs but either works with a single cable. This particular guitar is a 2003 with some normal wear and tear ... Thanks!

I use my Variax (which uses the piezo acoustic bridge) into my FM3 and it's great. I've never played an AE185 (though I've often wanted to), but I think it would pair perfectly well with the FM3, either in an electric amp config or a preset designed for acoustic.

Does the Variax have dual outputs? I'm curious how you're connecting it to maximize both the electric and acoustic. The FM3 has only one input so I imagine I'd have to create a preset with (perhaps) electric, acoustic, and "blended" scenes ???

I have a separate preset for acoustic and I just switch to the acoustic using the knob on my Variax. I only use the 1/4" output of the guitar. I have everything leveled so when my soundman (bassist) gets my signal, there's not a difference between my acoustic and electric sounds, so I don't fuss with multiple inputs/outputs etc. It's all just one signal. I'm just the rhythm guitarist, though, so I don't worry too much about being heard so long as my voice sound good.

EDIT: to answer your question, sort of; It's got the RJ-45 connection which allows you to mix and match modeled and electric sounds, but you're not supposed to use that and the 1/4" jack at the same time. Bad for the electronics or something.
