I'll just give you the play by play, for ease of reading;
1. plugged it in to the AxeFx using a Rocktron 7-pin known-good MIDI cable
2. it does switch presets and all the menu access at the MFC works
3. got a midi in 'pulse' every two seconds or so at the AxeFx that briefly drops the ouput signal.
4. if I access any menu functions on the AxeFx, the midi in 'pulse' exits me out of them as if I hit 'recall'
4. no preset names or tuner access at the MFC tells me I'm not getting two-way communication
I assumed that the first step would be to update the firmware on both devices. Though I've never had trouble before, I cannot seem to update the firmware on the AxeFx from Axe Edit. I think I've tried just about every combination of MIDI delay and MIDI buffer and it keeps choking.
I've not yet tried updating the firmware on the MFC. I'm kind of hoping it's already got the most current version since I just got it yesterday, but I haven't checked.
Can anyone tell me for reasonably sure that the problems I'm having with the MFC will be cleared up by one or both of the firmware updates once I get them done?
