Just noticed this and its free. What is the biggest benefit\application for this? Should I download it?
Being fairly new to modelers is this something I should leave alone (not enough experience) or could it be useful?
 
looks like you have to buy cab packs to use Cab Lab. Is that correct? Are the for sale cab packs that much better than the factory ones that come with the FM9T?
 
Yes, it's free.

It's use is for mixing IRs, or to use as an IR loader plugin.

It can be used to mix "legacy" cabs and/or DynaCabs.

The DynaCab packs are very nice and you have a higher level of control over mic placement and many additional mic choices (depending on the pack).
