Boss FV500 won't calibrate.

I have two Boss FV500 pedals, a low impedance as well as a high impedance device that I am trying to use as expression pedals through a FC12 controller. I tried several different cables, tried different inputs, I've set the volume knob completely counter clockwise. Basically, I get minimal or no movement on the slider scale when I rock the pedal as per the calibration routine. I figure I must be doing something wrong. Anyone use these pedals?

Wrong cable? I also use 2 FV500 pedals. One is an L500 and the other an H500. Set up with the FC-12.
You need aTRS cable in case that is the issue.

I've used the "H" version with MFC with trs cables to "expr" jack l - no problems

You need a stereo 1/4" TRS plugged into the expression jack on the FV500L.

all expression pedals with the Axe gear must be used with a TRS cable, not a TS standard instrument cable.

the H vs L doesn't affect the expression port on the FV500.

The funny thing was I was using inexpensive ' TRS balanced' cables for the pedal. I changed to a better cable and it worked. They definitely were TRS connectors but I guess they weren't wired correctly. Thank you all.
