Axe FX3 + 4CM.. which FX BLOCK do I use when alternating between my amp and the amp sim?

Hey guys,


I’ve connected my amp up to my Axe3 in 4CM. Love it! However, I want to be able to alternate or toggle between using my actual amp and using an amp sim from within the Axe3. What I can’t remember or work out is which FX block I need to use within Axe Edit that allows me alternate between my actual amp and an amp sim..?

Was it the FX Send or FX Return block, and where do I need to position it again?

You can use scenes to do this my turning specific things on and off. You could also use a 'Multiplexer' block to select different rows via changing it's channels, also via scenes, or directly via a switch.

The particulars depend on how you have the preset designed.

I just set the amp block to mute on bypass. The Input/Output blocks default that way. Then I do scenes with whatever one I want to use non-bypassed and just switch scenes at will. If you wanted to switch without scenes just control the bypass state on each with you switch…
