Axe Fx maiden voyage

Used my Axe FX II for the first time on a gig last night. Played a Martin steel string and Tak classical through the tube preamp sim, and Fenders with straight ahead Deluxe reverb sound. Also used the “Organic” preset (slightly tweaked) with a volume pedal. Monitored through a Boogie 20/20 power amp into a stereo Marshall cab with celestial G65’s. The sound man ran stereo XLR’s into the house. It killed. KILLED! People were coming up going “what the hell IS that thing”. And that’s just the effects and stereo field, I fire up all the amp sims…..look out! (Getting to where I could REALLY use the foot controller.....just sayin')

Glad to hear it. Since I first gigged with my Ultra and now my Axe FX II, I've run direct to FOH and monitored with IEMs and/or my Atomic Reactor cab ... and I've had the same reactions from people. They can hardly believe that "all that" was coming from this two space digital preamp. It's fun to have those reactions.
