Axe Edit Won't connect to Axe (on Apple M1 Sonoma)

Hey guys,

I have an Axe FX 2 XL, that I've had since 2015. Beginning of this year I moved to an M1 Mac Book pro that's currently on Sonoma. I've downloaded the most recent USB driver (2023) and the most recent Axe Edit, I'm connecting via the traditional USB port, but Axe Edit is just not connecting...I read another thread on the FM8, but can't find anything related to try to get this to work. Any suggestions & help?

Best,
A

Yup, I've tried a different USB cable, this one I'm trying with right now definitely works, cause I otherwise use it to link up my electronic drum kit, however I just checked and the Axe does NOT show up as an audio device in Audio Midi Settings. What would that mean?
Btw neither does my Roland TD-17 e-drum kit, yet that links up and plays when i need to use it in the DAW.
I am going through a OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock, because as you imagine the m1 mac doesn't have usb 2/3 ports.
