Axe Edit not recognizing AFX Ultra

As the title says, axe edit won't recognize my Axe Fx Ultra. I have the midi cables going in the in/out of the axe fx. Aside from that I have downloaded the appropriate axe edit beta 1.0.191 off the website. any help would be appreciated thank you
 
also sorry if this has been discussed 1000 times. just can't find anything that works for me at the moment
 
Back when I had the ultra I used a midi USB adapter, I used to get the in and outs mixed up, seems like I had to put the in cable on the out jack and vise versa. Then there were midi settings and such that would have to be set correctly. Even when it did connect it left a lot to be desired so I gave up and just got real friendly with the front panel. I wish you luck.
