Axe-Edit affecting my MIDI keyboard

When Axe-Edit is running, my MIDI keyboard sometimes lags (I hit a chord, and the sound doesn't come out immediately, there's a brief pause). This is sporadic. But closing Axe-Edit fixes the issue.

Im running Logic Pro X on a 2017 iMac, Axe is connected to Clarett 2Pre via SPDIF.

Anyone else running into this? Is there an easy fix for this?

Issue resolved by increasing IO Buffer size (from 32 to 128)
