Anyone using an Axess FX1 with their Axe FX 3?

Hey everyone! I hope you all had an awesome holiday and got some nice gear!

So I’ve recently acquired an Axe FX 3 Mark I and I’m trying to control it via midi using my Axess Electronics FX1. Mainly what I want to do is turn blocks on and off (like a pedalboard), switch scenes, change presets. I’ve gone through the Axe manual and FX1 manual but I’m still having issues getting things to work. Could someone help me out? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I responded to your Facebook post last night, didn't see this one until now. Copying here for posterity and in case you're a different Phil ;)

Connect midi out of FX1 to midi in of Axe Fx.

Set the midi channel on Axe Fx - I suggest 1 unless you're already using other midi devices.

Set the FX1 to send CCs on the same channel.

In the Axe Fx Midi/Remote menu, find the effect block you want to control (such as Delay 1). Select a unique CC number for that effect block, for example 20.

On the FX1, you'll want to configure it to send that CC number with a data value of 127 to turn it on and a data value of 0 to turn it off.

Repeat this for each effect you want to control (use a different CC for each).

I don't know if the FX1 supports definition of data values for CCs, some older midi controllers just have "IA" (Instant Access) switches. You only define the CC and it automatically sends 127 or 0.

Also, some controllers use predefined CCs and in that case just match the Axe Fx to those numbers.
