Amp block defaults at -12?

Hi everybody,

As I assume AxeFX3 is using floating point processing (meaning it cannot overload internally in the digital domaine), is there anybody who has a good answer for why the Amp Blocks default level value is -12db?

0db would seem the more obvious choice - as long as one adjust the output levels accordingly.

I'm sure Fractal has a good reason... But what does that matter at all?

Each model has a different overall level at default settings in any case.

I am simply curious - and wanting to understand my tool of production as good as possible

If its set lower, people are less likely to accidentally scare themselves/blow a speaker or headphone/overload a device.
