I got my FM3 MkII Turbo about 11 months ago. I wanted high gain Marshall sounds, think 80s heavy metal a-la Powerslave etc.
However, it turns out I took a wrong turn with my IR selection. At the 10 month point, I tried Leon Todd's TV Mix 7, it all clicked into place: sufficient clarity, chewiness, not scooped, enough bite etc. Now I can pick pretty much any higher gain amp and get a satisfactory starting point in about 2 minutes.
I'm very happy now. This is the device and tones I expected! For dorks like me, the unit should come with an idiot's guide that says "start with LT IRs and take it from there"!
