Adventures in tweaking - my new approach

Fractal Fanatic
After my latest adventure - in search of the fizzless sound - I decided to change my whole approach.
I found that I couldn't trust my ears (and perhaps what's between my ears).
So I couldn't just tweak a sound and save it, hereby overwriting a previous saved sound.
Furthermore, there are two major differences I have to make in making a preset.
1. The basic sound.
This is a combination of Eq's(pre and/or post), Drive, Compressor, Amp, Cab.
2.The chain
This is a series of fx, combined with the basic sound.

So I decided to save versions of both.
For example:
I used a chain based on a MarshaHBE.
So I saved a version after tweaking:
300 - MarshaHBE 001
301 - MarshaHBE 002
302 - MarshaHBE 003

The chains are saved as well
310 - Chain01 01 first number is the type, the second the version
311 - Chain02 01
.....

A combination might be:

001 - MaHBE003-03-01 (I use a short version of max. 5 characters for the name of the amp)

This is version 3 of the MarshaHBE with version 1 of chain3
So whenever I decide I've found a better version of the MarshaHBE - this might be because I've changed a cab or a drive, amp setting, whatever - I have to look where I've used the used this basic sound and replace the blocks drive-amp-cab-eq...
Same goes for whenever I make a new version of the chain.

If I make a preset with a harmoniser based on the MarshaHBE003 then I could call it:
MaHBE003-CMaj+3+5

As you can see the chains are good for using IA's.

Special presets that don't use IA's or a basic sound combination get a descriptive name.
These are what I call special FX for one preset in one song.

So now I'm cleaning up my Axe-fx banks and I have to constantly update my settings in my controller as well.
