Add XY Midi Pad to Setup

I want to integrate a xy Midi Pad to my setup which currently is an Axefx Standard and a MFC-101. I was planning on merging the two Midi Ins from the MFC and the XY pad with a M-audio Midisport 2x2 Anniversary Edition. Unfortunately I am sacrificing my 2-way communication this way. Can anybody think of an alternative way to make this work? Or do I have to change any settings on the axe and MFC to make the 2-way-communication work. Maybe with a second midi cable axefx Midi Out - > MFC Midi In
