4cm and master volumes

Hey all. I run my FM3 in 4cm using the out 2 method. I add a cab block for out1 which I use to FOH and works great. Something i dont understand is that the master volumes on my Friedman SB50 have no effect to the out 1 signal. They only control the speaker cab. This is great as i can control stage volume with the masters but why is this the case?
 
Possibly because the physical amp's master is placed after the fx loop (post fx return). If this is the case, your FM3's output1 would not be affected by amp master changes given it is only fed by the fx send (pre master).
