Start up issue - midi

Horrible sound when the laptop is running on mains

Axe wouldn't pickup any midi from pedal

hi, i broke my axe in on a blues/rock gig on friday and loved it. The only issue i had.. (much to the amusement of the amp player :S) was when I plugged in my controller (peak FCB8N) and exp pedal (Boss FV-500L) into the controller the axe wouldn't pick up the midi data... the midi activity...
