    Sell me on Cab Packs

I have the Misha pack as well. I dont use many off the shelf presets, but I like the citrus butter after a little eq. The zilla cabs are cool. Pretty versatile IMO. Not as much of a Dj0Ont 1 trick pony as they for whatever reason seemed to me at first.

New single from my band (Dreampop)

Sounds pretty big. I bet in a huge outdoor venue it would sound really really cool.

    Bare Knuckle Pickups

I have a set of juggernauts in my 8 string. And they rip for the most part. Not so much for the 8th string, however. Too much bass. To get the 8th to sound clear the rest of the guitar is always too brittle. Probably just me though. I really should stick to 7.

    Sell me on Cab Packs

I have a few cab packs and I always find something useful in them. Of course, I still use the factory stuff alot but I have found cab packs to be very useful for specific sounds I'm after.

    My Tone Sucked Last Night?

Have you used the same patches elsewhere live with good results? I've struggled with my patches clashing with cymbals and cancelling each other out or being too muddy and and not cutting live and it usually comes back to the old cab block hi and low cut and too much gain. I find that when I make...

    Is my XL+ for me?

Yup. The subtle shaping of the high and low extremes in the cab block really help get rid of excess fizz and flub so it's not too wide open sounding.

    Pickups, Active or Passive

I have liked a few actives I've played. I like the fishman fluence line. There was also a time I was impressed by the emg 81/85 combo (in 2004 when I first played them as a young teen who loved children of bodom.) These days however, its 100% passives for me. Thay said, I have heard alot of...

    Is my XL+ for me?

Hey. I feel you, because I've been an analog amp guy for many years and in the last 2 years made the switch to digital, and my experience with the axeFX, there is a little learning curve to make your patches sound the way you are expecting them to, particularly live, but the saving grace here...

Solid state or tube power amp?

To reinforce what others have said, just do USB. It sounds awesome and its so easy your granddad could do it.

Axe-Fx III vs Kemper Profiling Amp

I like them both but I always seem to lean fractal in a blind test.

Does your band run mono or stereo guitars live?

I find that if its a smallish show or if im the only guitarist, stereo helps add size but if its a rowdier show or in your case a metal band with another guitarist mono with a little pan LR helps to keep the guitars from colliding and taking up too much room.
