Ok I'll try that out and get back here later. I need a break. My head is spinning from all this.

There are sound samples on the first page as to what I'm talking about when I say hollow. I should say Dark or muddy.

I'm not sure I understand how to "route it to the various outputs." Can I do this from AxeEdit? I'm sorry I'm lost.

I don't have an amp. :blue:Kinda bought the axe instead so I could be relatively quiet. Ok the axe does sound better by going straight out to my monitors. It does as well on the headphones. It's cleaner but the sound is still too "hollow" Here is a pick of the diff guitars and cables. Left is...

Ok I'm gonna do another round of testing. The clips from before are passive pickups. Bare knuckle Nailbombs. So what I'm going to do is this. I have 3 different cables. 2 different guitars. One active and one passive. The active is a Ibanez with emg 85 in the bridge and 60 in the neck. The...

Yea. It's like the signal is getting a high cut on it or something. The two on the left are mine. Top is into interface and the bottom is into the Axe. The one on the right is taken from a guitar DI from a mixing project. It's raw though. All raw DI takes though. Can a usb plug on a computer act...

Yea that was my mistake with what I wrote. I'm using an unbalanced TS cable out from the Output 1 into the interface. Only TRS cables I have are for my monitors.

Ok so I thought about it for awhile. When I have used amp sims and stuff in the past I have noticed an issue with the high end of the frequency spectrum not being where it should be. (Missing) I thought this was an issue with my guitar. Well I actually just got a new one. High end issues were...

I checked the high cut and low and they are at the min level so it isn't as if the the cuts are taking away. I also did the pre amp thing as suggested. I'm done. I'm gonna contact support. The unit is just dark and I can't get the brightness it should have. Probably defective.

Just went straight to monitors and it's the same. Also switched guitars and went headphones. No change.

Ok back again. So the update to latest firmware didn't do it. It still sounds washed out. Like what Speedloader was saying it lacks top end and I think the bottom is too loose. I swear this seams like a phase issue or something. I don't know though. I'm gonna walk through my setup to see if...

Hey Chris, Just tried what you suggested and the issues remain. Here is a sample with what you asked me to setup. I also checked the global and ever thing is set middle. Did a reset as well. https://soundcloud.com/hangingjester/distortion-issues-2

I'm using firmware Quantum 1.0. My Daw is Cubase 7.5. I went ahead an bypassed the interface and tried that. It did sound slightly better but it still sounds as if there is mud or a blanket over the sound. I also went ahead and setup my daw and interface to 48khz and it didn't make a difference...

Ok so I finally saved up the money to get one after listening to examples and such on Youtube I decided to pull the trigger. My problem is it sounds really lifeless. I have tried to trouble shoot it on my own but I'm lost as to what it could be. I have made sure that the cab and power amp are on...
